American heroes are here

I loved the Oct. 25 Chronicle Page One. One headline read "Countdown to controversy" and told about Sen. John Glenn's, D-Ohio, upcoming space flight and quoted a National Aeronautics and Space Administration administrator who said, "America needs heroes."

Right below that was "Extra-Ordinary," a wonderful article about Lex and Joyce Frieden , who, as a disabled couple, are advocates for the disabled and true American heroes. America does not need to invent heroes - she has them.
